Regarding MSFS2024 compatibility

I have had access to the MSFS2024 Developer Alpha for a while and have had the opportunity to test my MSFS2020 sceneries in the new sim. They all work relatively well in MSFS2024, although there are some issues.

If you have purchased my sceneries for MSFS2020 from either simMarket or the SimNord store and want to use them as soon as MSFS2024 is released, you can simply copy the packages from the 2020-Community folder to the 2024-Community folder. If you have purchased my sceneries in the Marketplace, according to what Microsoft has stated, you should have access to them in the new sim automatically.

When a stable MSFS2024 SDK is released, I will update my 2020 sceneries so that they are fully 2024 compatible. I expect it will be free of charge for existing customers, but if, contrary to expectations, it turns out to be a lot of work to make my sceneries fully 2024 compatible, I may ask customers to pay a small upgrade fee.

Regarding the issues I've observed so far: There is an issue with 2020 custom aerial imagery (orthophoto scenery) not showing up in MSFS2024 Developer Alpha, there are issues with vegetation, trees, bushes etc. looking different in the new sim, reflections in windows are not as expected, and there are a few other minor issues.

But, as I said, my 2020 sceneries work relatively well in MSFS2024 Developer Alpha, and existing customers should be able to use them in MSFS2024 when it releases tomorrow.

Happy flying!

Hi John

Do You know when they will become available to install in MSFS2024 ?
Right now Marketplace as such is not available, but a few MSFS2020 addons like Fly Tampas EKCH has been added (Can be seen when ticking the MS2020 check box in Marketplace under "My Library").

Hi, sorry, I don't have a timeline for that yet. I'm not sure if my sceneries aren't in the Marketplace because the Marketplace isn't available or if it's because there are still issues accessing streamed data as many users and Microsoft/Asobo themselves have reported.

Well anyway I´m looking forward to when they get into MSFS2024, since Your Airports are the most used for me.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I now have access to Simnord scenery in MSFS 2024! And most of it looks fine, but for some reason the buildings in EKAH is missing

Thanks for reporting this issue with EKAH in MSFS2024. Are you using the streamed version from Marketplace? If so, it seems there is a difference between the streamed version and the one in the Community folder. There are no issues with buildings in the community folder version. I will investigate further.

EKAH Aarhus Airport (for MSFS 2020) has been updated and is now available in the MSFS 2020 Marketplace, which should mean that the updated version is also available in the MSFS 2024 "My Library". I have triede to fix the issue of missing buildings when using the scenery in the MSFS 2024 streamed version by updating an exclude polygon in the package. Would appreciate feedback from users experiencing this issue. Thanks!

Any idea why Sindal shows in the library, but cannot be activated: "Not available on this plattform"?

Hi. Unfortunately I can't answer that question. It seems that Microsoft hasn't completely completed the migration of MSFS 2020 sceneries to MSFS 2024. I have some of my own sceneries that I can't activate in MSFS 2024 My Library. I've reported it, and Microsoft says they're working on a fix. Unfortunately I don't think there's much else to do other than be patient a little longer. Sindal should work without any problems in MSFS 2024, if you can activate it.

I think I read somewhere, that with the launch of the Markedplace for 2024, developers can now flag their sceneries as compatible.

Sindal is still blocked though...

Hmm, I manually installed Sindal by moving it from my 2020 content folder, it did not show up in '24.
